The University welcomes the admission of international students in all programmes. They can apply through the online portal or, may send their request through e-mail along with scanned copies of their mark sheets and other valid documents to the email ID: coe@igntu.ac.in and CC to - ird@igntu.ac.in;
Number of Seats & Eligibility: As mentioned in the admission brochure/prospectus

•  There is a fixed separate quota in admissions for International Students, which shall not exceed 5% of the total number of students admitted to a programme. Further, all such students have to qualify the University admission test and satisfy other conditions as laid down from time to time by the University and Government of India.
• International students sponsored by the Government of India shall be eligible for admission as per the norms set in various fellowship/scholarship and government schemes.
• Upon selection all international students shall have to undergo mandatory medical tests for AIDS and other infectious diseases, within a week of the admission.
• The admitted students shall have to produce student VISA within one month after the admission, failing so, their admission shall stand cancelled.

Additional information for admission to the Ph.D. program

• A foreign national who is a recipient of fellowship by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Government of India and who is sponsored by his/her government (vide 5.2.5, IGNTU PhD Regulations 2018)
• A self-financing foreign national who is admitted through the Embassies/High commission of his/her country or admitted under a MoU with due clearance from the Indian Missions abroad. As per revised guidelines/ instructions of the Department of Higher education, MHRD, GOI on grant of research visa, the foreigners who desire to undertake research in India, should therefore, apply to the concerned Indian Missions abroad with the brief synopsis of the research project to be undertaken in India, the details of places to be visited, previous visits, whether the scholar has secured admission into a recognized or reputed institution and evidence of financial resources (vide 5.2.6 of IGNTU Ph.D. Regulations 2018).

Note: Before the admission, the equivalence committee of the concerned faculty shall decide the equivalence of the degree possessed by the foreign candidates. S/He shall be admitted to the PhD programme only if the degree possessed entitles him for enrolment as PhD scholar in the Universities of his/her own countries. Further, there shall be a fixed quota for admission to the self-financing foreign nationals (10% of the total available seats in a department).

Memorandum of Understanding/Agreement

To support and strengthen the academic and worklife environment of the university in general, and for greater benefits of its students, faculty and staffs, the University (Faculties/Departments/Centres/Offices) looks forward to establish meaningful and fruitful institution-to-institution relationships with internationally and nationally reputed academic institutions, with Indian industries and industry associations.

Types of collaborations may include (but are not restricted to):

1. Exchange of Students
2. Exchange of Faculty/research scholars
3. Research and Development collaboration
4. Exchanges of Materials (such as library materials)
5. Assistance in training related to persons and technical
6. Offering Dual and joint degree programmes

Initiation of a new MoU/MoA is normally dependent on the following factors:

1. Some previous faculty interaction between the proposed partner institutions
2. Strong potential for mutual benefit
3. Compliance with applicable University regulations and legal restrictions
4. Secured financial and infrastructure support (as necessary)
5. Coordinators or contact persons to be identified at each institution
6. Support from all constituents and programmes explicitly implicated in the agreement
7. A plan for regular programme evaluation and renewal

The Process:

All MoU/MoA proposals, both international and national will be reviewed by a committee with following composition, to ensure that all of the key questions noted above have been answered, to check for any duplication, and to identify better opportunities for collaboration and network building.
