About Department :

The department of Economics has come into existence in 2008 in the faculty of Economics at under graduate (U.G.) and Post graduate (P.G.) level with special emphasis on Tribal issues and Development, Rural Development, Forest Economics, Agriculture Economics. The research program including Ph.D. will be introducing in the session 2014- 2015. All faculty members of Department of Economics who have enriched the department both by their teaching and research activities.

The department of economics has tried to attempt fulfil the view objectives of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University. Looking to the majority of tribal population in this area on course on Tribal Economics has been introduce in our syllabus in order to educate and train the students study the future thinker & policy maker of this university so that an awareness about the local population and their specific development needs can be promoted and policy formulation add accordingly relevant policies can be formulated and implemented for the upliftment of the local population general and for tribal population in particular.
